Anorexic real estate

These days everyone’s interested in shrinking their carbon footprint, preserving resources and downsizing in general.

In many parts of the world land is scarce and very expensive. In Vietnam they have erected buildings on lots as narrow as 10 feet wide. In the heart of Hanoi, the old part of the city, one can find an art gallery  that’s 6 1/2 feet wide.

While other countries are encouraging smaller living spaces, the Vietnamese government has decided these properties are ugly and unsafe and has tagged 500 of them for demolition.
